Jason Drass 2-Day Horsemanship Clinic July 18th & 19th
Discovery • Groundwork • Mounted Work • Focus Sessions
Join us for a two-day horsemanship clinic with Jason Drass, designed to help riders improve communication, understanding, and overall partnership with their horses through discovery-based learning. Jason’s approach blends groundwork, mounted group work, theory, and semi-private focus sessions, allowing riders to both learn foundational concepts and apply them to their individual goals and challenges.
Clinic Format & Schedule Day One – Foundations & Group Work Day one will begin with groundwork in the morning, focusing on communication, feel, and foundational concepts. The clinic will then transition into mounted group work, where riders will begin exploring theory and discovery concepts in the saddle. This day sets the groundwork for understanding how and why horses respond, creating a strong base for deeper learning on day two.
Day Two – Discovery & Focus Sessions Day two will begin with a 2.5–3 hour mounted group session, continuing the theory and discovery work started on day one. Riders will further develop feel, timing, and communication in the saddle. After the lunch break, riders will be paired into semi-private Focus Sessions, working in pairs for one-hour sessions with Jason between 1:00–6:00 PM.
These sessions allow riders to concentrate on specific areas such as problem-solving, refining maneuvers, strengthening fundamentals, or advancing more complex skills. Riders are strongly encouraged to observe all Focus Sessions, as there is valuable learning to be gained by watching others work through their challenges. Important: Riders must be available for the entire day on Sunday. Pairings and Focus Session time slots will not be determined until after the morning mounted
Discovery session, as Jason will pair riders based on his assessment of each horse and rider.
